On Saturday, October 7th, the first edition of Fundable took place in Bologna—the only competition for early-stage startups entirely conceived and organized by Bluegreen Strategy.
Fundable was created to help startups become ready to secure public funding and private investment, offering feedback on their stage of development, training sessions, and direct consultations from highly qualified service providers specializing in startups at the prototyping phase.
The competition unfolded over a single day, with more than 40 selected startups taking part in the final round, chosen from among 200 applicants. Each startup had the opportunity to pitch their project to a jury of expert evaluators, selected among successful former startup founders, entrepreneurs, and business angels.
The jury included: Klaudia Niwecka, Alessandro Bortolani, Michele Travaglini, Massimo Foschi, Diego Zanchi, and Massimiliano Gattoni.
At the same time, each participant had the chance to take part in one-to-one consultations with the companies in attendance.

Throughout the day, each consulting firm held an in-depth workshop on specific, key topics related to their area of expertise, inviting startups to explore the subject further in one-on-one sessions.
The day concluded with the final pitch competition, where the 10 finalist startups presented their projects in front of the full audience and the jury. The final ranking saw GeneSys Bio take first place with its medical device for rapid and affordable infection detection, winning a prize of €10,000 in services.
Plasma TechMED came in second with EyeR, a medical device for disinfecting the eye from viruses, fungi, and bacteria. In third place was General Tag, with its innovative packaging solution that extends the shelf life of food products.
Fundable was a true challenge for Bluegreen—one we chose to take on many months ago. It was demanding, and there were hurdles along the way, including the flood that hit our Emilia-Romagna region, which forced us to postpone the event. But today, we’re proud and happy to say that Fundable was a real success, as confirmed by the many positive and constructive feedbacks we received.
